I can get neither Linux nor Windows XP to boot so I am out of options. Here is a procedure which worked on an HP Pavilion 15 Notebook. Asus and others: press TAB key while booting and select CD-ROM from boot menu. I got a new hard drive today but it still isn't working, predictably. shouldn't your CD/DVD drive be on top since you want to boot from that.
