Vmware Workstation Boot From Iso Normally, I would see the message - "Press any key to boot from CD-ROM" but on this host, that option has not shown up for any VMs. Step 2: Select CD/DVD (IDE) in the Hardware menu, choose Connected, Connect at power on and Use ISO image file, then click Browse searching for the right file and hit OK.
Any thoughts, ideas, comments?

During the black screen I see a small cd icon among others with a non sign over it. I vaguely remember having this same issue with ESXi 5.0 but cannot for the life of me remember what I did to get around it. So when DVD itself was used in client machine, the installation of OS began. Not sure which one helped, but installation of Win 2008-R2 is proceeding.So the problem was with ISO?
