My solution was to Quit (Close, in the wintel world) iTunes and drag the iPod icon to the Trash. And don't just unplug it. Edited by James, 16 April 2012 - 12:30 PM. Re-plugged back in iPod, and tested it out again.

Have you tried killing the sync in iTunes to see if there is an error message (click X in the middle message window while it is synching) Have you backed up If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the Forum FAQ and Forum Policy. Remove the ipod by right clicking on the safely remove hardware icon that appears on the taskbar at the bottom right of your screen when the USB is plugged in. Open up "My Computer" (for Vista users, that's "Computer") and look for your iPod in the list of drives and removable storage. I have let the Ipod sit with this message for up to 15 - 20 mins.
