I currently upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows Vista Home Premium, it was free thanks to DELL 😀 . I too would LOVE to know how. Second, be very careful about renaming your windows machine at work because the PC is probably a member of a windows domain (Active directory) and if you update the machine name And where all my personal files are under librairies & homegroup , are my new account named. anchor if you can help me could you please send me an email at [emailprotected] ?
It sounds like everyone is familiar with regedit, so just go to find and change every single entry that has the old name in (F3 to go to Find Next). Same thing each time. Cheers! You'll have to reboot after you make this change. check my blog You will be prompted to reboot the computer and once your reboot is complete, your new computer name will be in effect.
