I almost was thinking I am a total idiot, just upgraded to 7 on one machine. This way I can create Icons/Shortcuts onto my desktop.But when using Firefox 3 I am unable to do this. Awesome tip! They changed somethign recently in vista and now all my website icons are the default website shortcuts and I cannot right click->properties->customize any more.

I have tried everything but no results. should have thought of this myself. lurvly thanx! This doesn’t mean you can’t change the icons you want to change, however, it just means you need to add in another step and make shortcuts first.

Thanks a lot again! You just made my day and saved me a few gray hair!! The icon size changes to a different value (usually much smaller) during startup and has to be resized each time the computer is restarted. Vista Home Vista icons at the lowest "16" are annoyingly oversize on 17″ display.

If you have a dark desktop and title bar fonts are hard to read, try changing "Active Window" font from this same drop down box to white or another lighter color All the other options didn't work for me. mohammedmukram hey it really worked dude fos OK…that worked well…in WinXP that also resized the Icons in the taskbar if the desktop was hidden…however the hidden desktop Icons on the taskbar Though the window looks slightly different in Windows Vista, but the link is same in both Vista and Windows 7.
