Cannot Change Screen Resolution Vista
I'm currently posting in Safe mode with networking. So basically, what it came down to was that I in fact did not have the apropriate drivers installed for the graphic card... Problem is that the screen > resolution cannot be changed and is fixed at 640 x 480. PS: when using the normal mode (low resolution issue), i got one of those windows for updating windows vista. check over here

Thanks. But, setting Base Video in MSConfig allowed me to fully boot into a low res Vista where I could then set my resolution correctly. Let me know if that helps. it worked great for 2 weeks and all of a sudden i cannot change the resolution on the newer hp monitor which is dvi, it is stuck in 640x480.
John Barnett. one is vga and the other is dvi. For future reference never, ever install drivers from Windows update, you often end up with a non functioning device like you have now.
