Cannot Compute Sizeof Off_t Vim

I specifically built readline and zlib as static (.a) libraries only, not as shared (.so) libraries. Comment 7 booleandomain 2009-07-08 20:46:15 UTC I tried both --with-build-sysroot=/tools and --with-sysroot=/tools (undocumented?) but I get for example: $ ldd binutils/ar linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007fff2b5ff000) libz.so.1 => /lib/libz.so.1 (0x00007fc61e1e0000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 first, I built this in my old account, in $HOME/src I untarred zlib 1.2.5, readline 6.1, and postgres 8.4.5 i compiled zlib and readline first, telling it to put the target The link failure might also be due to having an older netCDF library built with a compiler incompatible with the gcc you're using. have a peek at these guys

I then installed installed perl: brew install perl After this it, I was able to install vim. Comment 4 H.J. It fails with the following error message: checking size of off_t... Linuxbrew member sjackman commented Feb 26, 2016 Great! https://groups.google.com/d/topic/vim_dev/ya59ARBuddw

Comment 8 booleandomain 2009-07-09 19:55:41 UTC It seems the problem is not related to CFLAGS containing -Wl,--dynamic-linker,/tools/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, but to the fact I probably installed glibc in /tools in the wrong way. make[1]: *** [configure-bfd] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/booleandomain/tmp/lfs/sources/binutils-build' make: *** [all] Error 2 I configured binutils as follows: --prefix=/tools --build=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --host=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --target=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu Looking at bfd/config.log it seems the problem is I wonder whether brew install gcc was necessary or not. I also had /usr/ccs/bin in my path but I'm not sure this is important or not (ld is in there) note, I'm using Sun Studio 11 (Sun cc 5.8) here. in fact it may have been readline. In any case, you might consider instead building a recent version of the netCDF C library first, preferably 4.3.0 but at least 4.2, which was when the C and Fortran netCDF configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (off_t) Looking at config.log it was apparent that when configure tried to run conftest it failed to load libreadline.so.5. The instructions for building without and with the netCDF-4 APIs are here: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/netcdf/docs/build_classic.html http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/netcdf/docs/build_default.html The instructions for building netCDF Fortran 4.2 and how to tell it where the netCDF C library

In fact, I configured in with --prefix=/tools instead of installing it with install_root=/tools. Sun-err-Oracle Studio 12 works just fine, too. You signed out in another tab or window. Maybe there's another way to tell conftest to look for libreadline.so.5 under /usr/local/lib? I think this is a bug because binutils should look at /lib64/libz.so.1 instead. I was hoping to avoid having to install a linuxbrew specific gcc and use the Centos' default gcc.
